50+ Volunteers stood outside the brand new Canadian Museum for Human Rights to protest the glaring omission of the preborn from the exhibits. Our volunteers braved the cold and the rain to bring the truth to museum-goers and many different groups were represented: UMSCL, Winnipeg Against Abortion, the Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform, Campain Life Coalition and Silent No More. A huge thank you to everyone who came out!

"Display sparks debate with staff and students at U of M"
'From Sept. 23 to 25, the University of Manitoba’s Students for a Culture of Life student group set up a display titled the "Genocide Awareness Project."
What it displayed was graphic anti-abortion posters.
"The reason the images are intense is because abortion is intense and genocide is intense, so naturally people are going to get a little riled up," said Ginter. "But that doesn’t change the message. The images are intense because the issue is intense."'

"Abortion debate front and centre at the U of M"
'From UMSU Council to the pedway, it was hard to shy away from the abortion debate on the University of Manitoba’s Fort Garry campus last week, after a pro-life student group set up a graphic billboard display comparing abortion to genocide. (...)
At UMSU Council, on the first day of the images being displayed, student Ashley James attempted to table an emergency motion to revoke the student group status of UMSCL, on the grounds that the images are offensive and disrupt the ability of some students to learn. (...)
Council, however, declined to vote on the motion, citing the need for more time to research the group and their activities. The extent to which council could influence the use of the posters was also unclear.'
Join us at our official "Tree of Life Kickoff" (although yes, it's approximately half way into the campaign!) at the University of Manitoba! We'll have live Christmas music, hot chocolate and cookies, and we'll be collecting donations for the Winnipeg Crisis Pregnancy Centre. 10:30am-12:00pm in the GSA Lounge! And at 1:00pm, don't miss guest speaker Juergen Severloh from the Winnipeg Crisis Pregnancy Centre, talking about the importance of such work in our city!

Come hang out with UofM pro-lifers at the Hub. This isn’t an activism event or a training event; it’s solely intended to be an awesome time to hang out with other like-minded students!
